Rosland, City Manager SUBJECT: TAX - FORFEITED LAND DATE: March 28, 1979 tt tZv Last year the City acquired two parcels of tax - forfeited land at Olinger Boulevard and Amy Drive. The one parcel was taken for right -of -way and the other for ponding. Last week an individual who had a purchase option on the property just south of the narrow right -of -way tract inquired as to whether that property was needed by the City, and if not, what process should be followed to attempt to obtain it. After discussions with Mr. Hoffman and Mr. Hughes, it was determined that the property was not needed by the City any longer and could be turned back to the State for sale. The only implication of such a move should the adjoining landowner obtain the property is resubdividing and making two buildable lots if possible variances were granted on the second lot. Staff felths appropriate to address any such request at that time. As for the process, the City would need to convey it back to the State who would in turn have the County sell it at their bid acution this fall. It is the staff recommendation since the strip is no longer needed that it be reconveyed back to the State for public sale. KR:MB:md r April 10, 1979 leis.
