Building Inspection Services Now Available by Appointment
Edina, Minn., July 30, 2021 – Starting Monday, Aug. 2, Edina residents can book in-person appointments with the Building Inspections Division 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
Services available for appointment with the division include applying and paying for permits, permit questions and contractor registration. Booking an appointment will allow Building
Inspections staff to provide the highest level of customer service and ensure enough staff is available to assist visitors.
“We are excited to offer this easy-to-use option for contractors and residents of Edina,” said Building Permit Specialist Dawn Wills. “Since we have some staff working in this office
and some working remotely, this will offer better customer support by allowing people to set up an exact time to visit our front staff in the office.”
In-person appointments can also be booked for fingerprinting and filing homestead applications.
The City uses an application called No Wait Inside to offer appointment scheduling. To book an appointment, residents can visit EdinaMN.gov/Appointment, select the necessary "location"
(department) and service, and enter their first name, last name, cell phone number and email address. Once an appointment is scheduled, customers will receive text messages or calls
with instructions detailing how they should proceed, including appointment reminders and arrival confirmation. This booking software allows customers to virtually check in when they
arrive and receive notifications when it is time for them to pull up to the building or enter Edina City Hall.
For most services, the more convenient way to do business with the City remains the same – online or through email and phone. Services like renewing dog licenses, making payments and
more can be done through the City’s website, EdinaMN.gov.
