Edina Police Officers David Boosalis and Nicole Frederick accompanied the students. “Our Explorers competed against 400 other Explorers from Minnesota,” said Boosalis. “They have been training intensely all year for this event and their hard work has paid off.” The Explorers competed in nine different events and received first place for Police Exam, second place for Traffic Accident Investigation and third place for Traffic Stop. Explorers Katie Kline, Kayla Stene, Julia Winkelmen and Alex Geiger were members of the team awarded. “I am very proud,” noted Boosalis. “[These awards were] well-deserved. We meet every week and they give 150 percent. It doesn’t surprise me that they won trophies.” Edina/Eden Prairie Explorer Post No. 925 is open to young men and women ages 14 to 20 who have an interest in learning more about a career in law enforcement.
