Dog Parks The City of Edina currently operates a year-round dog park/ off-leash area (OLA) at Van Valkenburg Park and a seasonal OLA at Strachauer Park. In the discussion, the City asks if more dog parks should be added, where it could do so and whether or not residents use either dog park. This discussion is available until Nov. 3. While no change is proposed with this discussion, results will be shared with the City Council in December. Participate in this discussion here. Vision Edina A process to develop a community vision for the City is under way with “Vision Edina.” A discussion is available on the site for residents to help create a shared future vision for the City. This discussion asks what residents think Edina’s future is, how they think technology will impact the community, how neighborhoods can respond to increasing population and changing demographics, and how residents think the City’s public infrastructure needs to change to reflect changing community priorities. This discussion is available until Dec. 31. Comments gathered from this discussion will help the project consultant define a shared community vision to be presented to the City Council. A CIP includes large, one-time investments like vehicles, buildings, parks and streets. The proposed CIP is available for review on the site. In this discussion, the City asks for residents’ first thoughts of the proposed plan, if there should be any changes and if the City should explore new revenue sources to fund unfunded projects in the proposed CIP. Additionally, a survey is available where residents can rank the unfunded projects if the City did have additional funding. This discussion is available until Nov. 19. Comments will be used to finalize the proposed CIP, and will be shared with the City Council. Participate in this discussion here. Paper surveys are also available at Edina City Hall and the Edina Community Library. Sidewalk Plan The City is updating its Sidewalk Facility Plan, which indicates Edina streets that currently have sidewalks and streets where sidewalks are planned to be added over the next 20 to 30 years.
