The City looks for additional community input on its Sidewalk Facility Map with several public meetings this month. Meetings will be held for each quadrant of the community to gather feedback on the plan. Anyone who works in, lives in or visits the City is encouraged to attend. The meetings are:  Northwest Edina – 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, Edina Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square  Southwest Edina – 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, Edina Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro Blvd.  Northeast Edina – 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St.  Southeast Edina – 6-8 pm. Wednesday, Nov. 19, Edina Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro Blvd. The Sidewalk Facility Map indicates which Edina streets currently have sidewalks and where sidewalks are planned to be added to the network over the next 20 to 30 years. This map is a planning document to be used during improvement projects to develop Edina’s future transportation system. It also identifies criteria, in additional to the City’s Living Streets Policy criteria, that helps determine whether or not a sidewalk is warranted on a specific street. Future sidewalks would be paid for with Pedestrian and Cyclist Safety (PACS) funds. Funding for future sidewalks on State-aid roads are paid by a combination of State-aid and PACS funds. Those unable to attend the meeting are encouraged to review the Sidewalk Facilities Map and criteria and weigh in at www.SpeakUpEdina.org or submit written comments by email to mnolan@EdinaMN.gov or to Edina Sidewalk Map, c/o Mark Nolan, 4801 W. 50th St., Edina, MN, 55424.
