The summer market runs 3-7 p.m. Thursdays June 9 through Sept. 29 in the most picturesque location for a market in the Twin Cities. Vendors line the pathways by Hughes Pavilion, and shoppers have easy access and free parking at Centennial Lakes Park, 7499 France Ave S. Only food items, flowers and plants are allowed for sale. They must be grown or produced by the vendor. New vendors are being sought this year to expand offerings of foods such as eggs, cheese, meat and fish or unique food items that haven’t been offered before. Market favorite fruit and vegetable sellers are expected back, along with some popular stands. Other items that can be sold at this market include herbs and spices, bakery goods, candies, treats, honey, syrup, jams, and pickled and canned goods. All products must be prepared and packaged following Minnesota Department of Agriculture rules. Season-long booth spaces are available for $230 to $280. Limited electrical spots are available for an additional fee. A committee will review all applications to determine which vendors are best suited for available market spaces.
