Two seats are available on each of the commissions. Commissions include: Arts & Culture Commission Community Health Commission Energy & Environment Commission Heritage Preservation Commission Human Rights & Relations Commission Parks & Recreation Commission Planning Commission Transportation Commission Applicants must be entering Grades 10-12 for the 2022-2023 school year and be enrolled in Edina High School or live in Edina to participate. Appointments are yearlong and begin Sept. 1. Applications will be accepted April 11 through May 20. The City Council will make appointments in July and an orientation session for the new Student Commissioners will be held in August. “Being a student commissioner is an amazing way to enrich your experience with various topics,” said Human Rights & Relations Student Commissioner Sabeeh Mirza. “I found meaningful ways that my work on the commission has applied to the rest of my life, giving me invaluable experience that I hope to continually use in the future!
