Grab a spot along the park’s central pond to see the parade, which includes miniature yachts, small battleships, model paddleboats and sailboats. Many of the boats feature fine details, like captains at the wheel or a parrot perched on the crow’s nest. Kid favorites include a boat full of Minions and the Mr. Potato Head pirates aboard the Gravy Boat. A Capt. Jack Sparrow entertainer will be at the event from noon to 3 p.m. to regale the crowd with tales of his adventures at sea. Members of the Edina Model Yacht Club, which puts on the free event, will be on hand to answer questions about the model boats and the hobby.
