The Water Resources Management Plan describes three core services: flood risk and stormwater runoff management, clean water services, and natural resources restoration and protection. It is one of three water plans that serves as the basis for the Water Resources chapter of the City’s Comprehensive Plan. Last month, the Edina City Council reviewed the proposed changes to the plan and authorized staff to submit the draft major amendment for agency review. The Nine Mile Creek Watershed District, Minnehaha Creek Watershed District and State agencies have until Oct. 31 to review the plan for consistency with the watershed plans. Following the review period, staff will modify the plan as necessary based on comments, and then return to the City Council for plan adoption. Staff has tentative plans to present the plan to the City Council at its Nov. 15 meeting. For more information, contact Water Resources Manager Jessica V.
