HomeMy WebLinkAboutWinter Ice Festival 2023Contact: Debbie Townsend, Communications Coordinator Phone 952-826-0346 • dtownsend@EdinaMN.gov • EdinaMN.gov  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  Skate with Anna and Elsa at Winter Ice Festival Jan. 8  Edina, Minn., Dec. 21, 2022 – Celebrate the season with an afternoon of skating, horse-drawn trolley rides, curling demonstrations and more fun at the 32nd Winter Ice Festival 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at Centennial Lakes Park. People can bring their own skates or rent ones to glide under the bridges and across the picturesque 10-acre lake. The park will be decked out in its winter decor. New this year, Anna and Elsa, inspired by “Frozen,” will be stopping by from 2 to 4 p.m. to skate and pose for photos with the kids or the whole family. Richfield Curling Club will give curling demonstrations throughout the afternoon. The festival also includes music from a family-friendly DJ and trolley rides. As a special treat, mini doughnuts will be for sale. Skating and admission to the festival are free. Centennial Lakes Park is located at 7499 France Ave. S., with plenty of free parking located near Hughes Pavilion. Skate rental is $8 per pair or rent a kick sled for $8 per hour. Rentals and concessions are available inside Hughes Pavilion. The festival and skating conditions are subject to weather.
