Outgoing City Council Members to be Honored at Dec. 20 Reception
Edina, Minn., Dec. 12, 2022 – The public is invited to attend a reception honoring outgoing members of the Edina City Council.
The reception honoring Ron Anderson and Kevin Staunton will be held 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, in the lobby and Council Chambers of Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St. Light refreshments
will be served at the open house.
Staunton is ending 17 years of public service to Edina, having served three terms on Planning Commission prior to two terms on the City Council. Anderson served on the Board of Appeal
& Equalization before being elected to one term on the City Council.
“Over the years, Kevin has been one of a handful of very talented people who have served the City of Edina so very well and who have helped shape what Edina is today and will be in the
future,” said Mayor Jim Hovland. “He is a man of remarkable talents and abilities that is always thinking of what is best for our community and its residents.
“Ron represents the citizen leader – someone who comes to City Hall to do the work of the public, for the good of the town, and not for personal gain. In the past four years, Ron has
helped shape Edina into an ever-better community. We wish him the best and thank him for his service to our community as an elected official. I fully expect Ron to continue to serve
Edina in different ways in the future.”
The 7 p.m. City Council meeting will be Anderson’s and Staunton’s last in their role as Council Members. Kate Agnew and Julie Risser will be sworn in as the newest City Council Members
at the first City Council meeting of the new year on Jan. 3.
