Donations are being accepted at the Police Department, 4801 W. 50th St., and Fire Station 1, 6250 Tracy Ave., through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14. New, unwrapped toys, along with gifts for older kids and teens, will be accepted in the Police and Fire department lobbies for the next several weeks. The Police drop-off is open 24 hours a day daily, while the Fire drop-off is available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. “The Edina Police Department is excited to participate again in the Toys for Tots drive. The program is a great way for residents to make an impact within our community,” said Community Engagement Officer Emily Jepson. “Last year, we were able to fill a whole box truck with toys. I’m proud to work in a community with that kind of generosity, and I’m excited to see us do it again this year!” Last year, the Toys for Tots program in the Twin Cities donated more than 206,000 toys and supported over 122,000 children in the community.
