This year’s event is scheduled for 6:30-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11. Festivities will be spaced out over four parks: Normandale Park, 6501 Warren Ave. S.; Pamela Park, 4301 W. 58th St.; Weber Park, 4115 Grimes Ave. S.; and, Walnut Ridge Park, 5801 Londonderry Road. “Winter Neighborhood Night Out is the perfect opportunity to get outside in the winter and connect with neighbors,” said Recreation Supervisor Kristin Aarsvold. Each of the parks will host ice skating and kick sledding. Party-goers at Normandale, Pamela and Weber parks will also have the opportunity to snowshoe, courtesy of sponsor Hoigaard’s. In addition, for those who want a small memento to remember the night by, a caricature artist will be on hand at Normandale Park to sketch you or a loved one. Assorted, complimentary refreshments will be available at each site. A variety of beverages will be on hand, and Jerry’s Foods and other sponsors will provide cookies for all attendees, “We really owe our success to our great sponsors, including the Edina Community Foundation, Edina Morningside Neighborhood Association, Edina Lions Club, Parkwood Knolls Neighborhood Association and Primrose School in Edina,” Aarsvold said.
