Resident Named To NOC Group Alongside Council Member
Edina, Minn., April 15, 2013 – The Edina City Council named Edina resident James Vose to the
Metropolitan Airport Commission’s Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) as a member of the “at-large city
group.” He will serve as a backup to City Council Member Joni Bennett, who was recently appointed to the
group as the City’s primary voice.
Vose will step in for Bennett if she is unable to fulfill her duties and advise At-large Representative John
Bergman, a City Council Member from Apple Valley, on aviation issues affecting Edina. The committee, formed
by the Metropolitan Airport Commission (MAC) in 2002, focuses on addressing noise issues and concern in
areas surrounding the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
“It’s very important to me that complete information is known and shared with the community before any
decisions are made,” Bennett said. “The appointment allows me to advocate on behalf of Edina for area-wide
oversight and decisions that fairly allocate the burdens as well as the benefits of a close, in-urban airport.”
