Active adults prepare to take on the town
Edina, Minn., June 20, 2013 – Ready for some adventure, sight-seeing and a time to get up and about? The
Edina Senior Center’s next active adult day trip provides all that and more.
At 9 a.m. July 18, adults will gather at Edinborough Park, 7700 York Ave. S. The group will return there at
3:30 p.m. after a day of fun.
From Edinborough, the group will tour the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. A guide will present
highlights of the cemetery’s history, famous memorials, beautiful gardens, artistic monuments and
architecture. Then, adults will visit Granite City Food & Brewery for lunch before a professional sightseeing
guide will give them a tour of some of the area’s lakes.
The tour will continue through the elite Kenwood area where everyone will be able to see the sculpture
gardens, followed by a stroll past the Walker Art Center. The tour will then take a look at the changes
downtown, see the riverfront and stop at the 35W Bridge Memorial.
Cost is $60 per person. Register at the Edina Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square, Edina. For more
