Senior Center Offers Defensive Driving Course
Edina, Minn., June 11, 2013 – This summer, Edina Senior Center will host four-hour defensive driver
refresher courses for those 55 years and older.
In order to attend a course, you must have completed the eight-hour National Safety Council Course. Once
you attend the eight-hour National Safety Council Course and the four-hour defensive driver course, you can
submit the completion certificates to your insurance company, which will likely offer you a three-year, 10
percent discount.
“The classes offered are very popular and most seniors leave saying they really learned a lot of useful
information,” said Donna Tilsner, Recreation Supervisor at the Senior Center.
The course will be offered 12:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 and Tuesday, Aug. 13; and 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 22 and Thursday, Sept. 19. Tilsner said the evening sessions were added to accommodate
those with daytime jobs.
To register for the four-hour defensive driver refresher course, visit the Senior Center, 5280 Grandview
Square, or mail a check with your driver’s license number and date of birth. Cost is $22 per person. Make
checks payable to “Edina Senior Center.”
