City of Edina Outdoor Rinks Set To Open Early
Edina, Minn., Dec. 11, 2013 – Edina’s 12 outdoor ice skating rinks will open early for the season Tuesday,
Dec. 17, weather permitting.
The 12 rinks are at Arden, Cornelia School, Countryside, Creek Valley, Highlands, Lewis, Normandale,
Pamela, Strachauer, Todd, Walnut Ridge and Weber parks. All locations feature warming houses and general
skating, and all but Countryside have hockey rink.
Warming house hours at are 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 1
p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Hours Dec. 23 through Jan. 2 are noon to 9:30 p.m. daily. Holiday hours are 9 a.m. to 3
p.m. Dec. 24, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 31 and 1 to 8 p.m. Jan. 1. On school holidays the warming houses will be
open noon to 9:30 p.m.
Rinks are scheduled to remain open until end of day Feb. 20, weather permitting.
Centennial Lakes Park also features a 10-acre lake for skating which will open Friday, Dec. 16.
