City of Edina Outdoor Rinks Set To Open Early
Edina, Minn., Dec. 11, 2013 – Edina’s 12 outdoor ice skating rinks will open early for the season Tuesday,
Dec. 17, weather permitting.
The 12 rinks are at Arden, Cornelia School, Countryside, Creek Valley, Highlands, Lewis, Normandale,
Pamela, Strachauer, Todd, Walnut Ridge and Weber parks. All locations feature warming houses, hockey
rinks and general skating rinks.
Warming house hours at are 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and
1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Holiday Hours from December 23-January 3 are noon-9:30p.m. on weekdays, with
the exception of the following: December 24, noon-4 p.m. and December 31, noon-4 p.m. School holidays on
January 20, 21, February 17, 18 are noon-9:30 p.m.
Rinks are scheduled to remain open until end of the day Feb. 28, weather permitting.
Centennial Lakes Park also features a 10-acre lake for skating which will open Dec. 13, weather
permitting.
