Edina Art Center Invites Submissions for 2012 Juried
Teen Art Exhibition
Edina, Minn., Jan 12, 2012 –The Edina Art Center is accepting entries for its juried teen art
showcase, “Young I’s.” The theme of the second-annual event is “The Net Generation.”
Area youth between 14 and 18 are encouraged to create and submit original work that represents their
generation’s relationship with technology and speaks to how students’ self-image is affected by the
internet, social media and related innovations.
The deadline for 2012 submissions is Feb. 1. Call the Art Center at 952-903-5780 for entry details.
The Art Center will display selected entries at the Margaret Foss Gallery, 4701 W. 64th St., between
March 1 and March 28. Judges will grant awards based on criteria including relevance to the theme and
overall artistic vision and expression.
Last year’s inaugural showcase drew 70 entries from young local artists working in a variety of formats,
including photographs, paintings, and mixed media. Due to interest, this year’s Young I’s is open to high
school students throughout the Twin Cities metro area.
