Park Board seeks volunteers for new working group
Edina, Minn., March 6, 2012 – The Edina Park Board seeks volunteers to serve on its Hornet’s Nest
Working Group.
Project advocates who call their organization “Drive for the Hive” have proposed building a free-standing,
two-level building immediately north of Braemar Arena’s west rink. The building would include permanent
locker rooms for the Edina High School boys’ and girls’ hockey teams on the lower level and dry-land training
facilities, a quick-serve restaurant and pro shop on the upper level. On Feb. 21, the Edina City Council
approved the Park Board’s recommendation to form a Working Group to analyze the Hornet’s Nest
proposal.
The Park Board is seeking volunteers to serve on this Working Group that will meet early Tuesday mornings
on March 27, April 3 and April 10. Additional meetings may be needed if the project requires further study.
The deadline to apply is 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 19.
