Fourth-annual Edina Sculpture Exhibition on display
Edina, Minn., June 10, 2011 – The 11 new sculptures for the fourth-annual Edina Sculpture Exhibition have
been installed. The public is encouraged to vote for their favorites.
Artwork has been installed in three locations: Edina Promenade, Grandview Square Park and at 50th & France.
A reception for the artists and art patrons will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Pinstripes, 3849
Gallagher Drive.
“We have a great variety of sculptures that will appeal to a broad audience. There is kinetic, traditional
bronze, abstract bright contemporary, rocks and concrete with porcelain,” said Lois Ring, chair of the Edina
Public Art Committee.
“We are pleased to partner with the 50th & France Business & Professional Association and expand public art
to a third location. Our committee is a committee of the Edina Art Center Board and we have been working
diligently for the past five months to create an extraordinary experience for the public and the community.
We invite everyone to visit all three locations. Enjoy the art and don’t forget to vote!”
Seven new pieces are on display on the Edina Promenade, along with a handful of permanent installations
there. At Grandview Square Park, one new sculpture has been added to the two 2011 People’s Choice
winners.
Ballot boxes are located at all three locations. The public is invited to vote for their favorite sculpture. Only
one vote is allowed per person. Ballots without signatures will not be counted. Voting ends Sept. 30.
People’s Choice Awards will be given to the first-, second- and third-place winners, who will be invited to
display their sculptures for an additional year.
