Edina Art Center To Hold 28th-Annual Members’ Juried
Exhibition
Edina, Minn., Sept. 4, 2012 – Talented area artists will paint, draw, photograph and sculpt their way
into the largest event of the year in the Edina Art Center’s Margaret Foss Gallery. The Edina Art
Center is set to kick-off the 28th-Annual Members’ Juried Exhibition with an opening reception 5 to 8
p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27.
The reception is open to the public to view the artwork on display. Jurors’ Critique will be at 6 p.m.
during the reception. Artwork will be on display throughout the Edina Art Center, 4701 W. 64th St.,
through Oct. 31.
“This is an opportunity to see some of the great artwork being produced in Edina and surrounding
areas,” Interim Art Center Director Michael Frey said. “I hope everyone has the opportunity to see
these amazing pieces before the exhibition closes.”
Jurors will select visual art, created by artists in the metro area, for the exhibition. In the past, the
collection included paintings, sculpture, photography, pottery, mixed media and more. The best work
in the jurors’ opinion will be displayed in the Foss Gallery, regardless of medium.
Up to $750 in cash awards will be given to selected winners, including the Betsy Bryant Pottery
award for outstanding pottery work. In addition, entrants will receive a ballot for a Peer Award to
select their choice for the best piece in the show. The winner of the Peer Award receives a ribbon
and $75. For 2012, the Peer Award is in honor of Maureen Brockway, one of the co-founders of the
Edina Art Center’s Pottery Department.
