City of Edina Announces ‘Open to Business’ Walk-In Hours
Edina, Minn., Sept. 26, 2012 – The City of Edina is now offering “Open to Business” walk-in hours from
2:30 to 4:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month in the Mill Room at Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St.
The next session for walk-in appointments will be held Wednesday, Oct. 10.
Open to Business, a program through the Metropolitan Consortium of Community Developers (MCCD),
provides one-on-one consultation and financing packages to potential and existing business owners to
promote economic development and job growth. The free consultations are led by MCCD Business Advisor
Rob Smolund.
An Edina resident, Smolund is available to meet with business owners and entrepreneurs in City Hall or other
convenient location. Entrepreneurs are strongly encouraged to schedule appointments in advance. To
schedule a business advising consultation, call Smolund at 612-789-7337, extension 11.
MCCD is an association of nonprofit community development agencies, which strives to expand the wealth
and resources of communities through better housing and economic development initiatives. Since 2003,
MCCD has loaned more than $6.7 million to over 550 entrepreneurs for business start-up or expansion
projects.
