Edina Art Center To Host Minnesota Mosaic Guild Exhibit
Edina, Minn., April 12, 2011 – The Minnesota Mosaic Guild (MMG) will open an exhibit at
the Edina Art Center June 30.
The exhibit will feature pieces of art created by MMG’s members. The mosaics are created out
of stained glass, tiles, gems, beads and more to illustrate the diversity of art pieces that can be
created.
“I was instantly obsessed with the process of creating a whole out of practically nothing,” said
Sharra Frank, a founding member of MMG. She created her first mosaic in a college art class.
In addition to individual artist’s work, a mosaic “quilt” will be on display at Edina Art Center.
The “quilt” is a group project and will be presented as a gift to the new Children’s Hospital is
Port au Prince, Haiti.
The exhibit will run June 30 to Aug. 3. A public reception will be held 5 to 8 p.m. June 30, at the
Edina Art Center, 4701 W. 64th St.
MMG was formed in 2004 and currently has 36 members. It is dedicated to the enjoyment and
promotion of the mosaic arts. MMG shares knowledge, resources, mishaps and friendships at

The Edina Art Center provides the community with a place to enjoy art and a chance to learn how
to create it. The Art Center is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
