Themed “America the Beautiful,” the parade will step off at 10 a.m. behind City Hall at the intersection of Willson Road and Eden Avenue and proceed one mile east on West 50th Street to the U.S. Bank parking lot at Halifax Avenue. Grand marshals will be the Edina-Morningside High School Class of 1951, the first class to graduate from an Edina high school. In addition to the Class of 1951, dozens of veterans will be honored in the parade. Presenting sponsors are Lunds and Byerly’s. The parade is put on by the Edina Community Foundation and organized by its volunteer Parade Committee. Dick Crockett, the Edina Community Foundation’s Executive Director, praised the Parade Committee’s work in creating the parade “as an event to bring people together and make a stronger community.” Rosland Park, 4300 W. 66th St., will be the site of the community’s fireworks display, presented by Fairview Southdale Hospital. The fireworks will follow an 8:45 p.m. concert of the First John Philip Sousa Memorial Band. For more information about the parade, visit www.edinaparade.org. -30-
