Edina Mayor Named to GREATER MSP Advisory Council
Edina, Minn., Nov. 15, 2011 – Edina Mayor James B. Hovland has been named to GREATER
MSP’s Partner Advisory Council.
The GREATER MSP Partnership is a primary point of contact for domestic and international
businesses looking to locate or expand in the 13-county Minneapolis-Saint Paul region. It represents
11 Minnesota counties and two adjoining Wisconsin counties. The City of Edina is a GREATER MSP
partner.
The goal of the Partner Advisory Council is to function as an advisory group to GREATER MSP’s
Board of Directors. The Council is led by GREATER MSP Board Members John Griffith and Russ
Nelson, and staffed by organizational CEO Michael Langley. The Council is comprised of economic
development partners, practitioners, investors and organizations involved in economic development
functions throughout the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul region.
The Partner Advisory Council will meet quarterly to discuss the activities of the partnership. These
activities include:
Adoption, review, and updating of operational protocols for the partnership;
Sounding board and input source for marketing efforts, allocation of resources, and targeted
outreach; and
Regional product improvement
Hovland’s first meeting with the Partner Advisory Council was Nov. 14.
