HomeMy WebLinkAboutresburgsmay EDINA POLICE DEPARTMENT 4801 W. 50th St. Edina, MN 55424 Administration (952) 826-1610 FAX (952) 826-1607 Edina Police Department Media Release Edina Police Asking for Public’s Help with Recent Burglaries Within the last 5 weeks, 3 unusual residential burglaries have occurred on the west side of Edina. All 3 involved forced entry during the day and 2 included cut phone lines. In two incidents jewelry was taken; in the most recent (May 10) case there was no loss because the female homeowner surprised the suspect in her front hall and he turned and ran out of the home. A white male with dark hair was seen driving a red pickup with a black topper in the April first burglary; there was no suspect seen in the May 7 incident, and in the May 10 burglary the suspect was described as a white male in his 40s with dark hair and a receding hairline. This suspect drove off in a brown sedan with a white female in the front passenger seat. These burglaries may be linked to similar incidents in Plymouth, Minnetonka, and Minneapolis. Edina Chief Jeff Long states “This is a top priority for us, and I hope that someone will come forward with something to help us find this guy, or group.” Detective Dave Carlson is asking for any information relevant to either the vehicles or suspects in these burglaries; if you know anything, please call Edina Police anytime at 952- 826-1600.
