FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Adaptive Recreation & Learning Exchange to co-sponsor
fundraiser dance
Edina, Minn., April 5, 2010 – The Adaptive Recreation & Learning Exchange, along with the
school districts and cities of Edina, Bloomington, Eden Prairie and Richfield, will sponsor a Spring
Formal on Friday, May 7, to celebrate 20 years of and raise money for the non-profit organization
Transportation Resource to Aid Independent Living (TRAIL).
The dance for teens and young adults with and without disabilities will be held from 7 to9 p.m. at
Braemar Clubhouse, 6364 John Harris Drive, Edina. The event will feature a DJ and dessert bar with
a chocolate fountain. For an additional cost, attendees can get a professional photo and participate in
a raffle.
Tickets are $12 and must be purchased by April 30. All of the proceeds from the dance will benefit
TRAIL.
”The dance will be a lot of fun,” said Edina Recreation Supervisor Donna Tilsner. “The proceeds will
go to a very important component of the City’s adaptive recreation program.”
Established in 1990, TRAIL is a non-profit organization developed to provide transportation to
individuals with disabilities who are living independently or semi-independently without
transportation on the premises. The provided transportation enables riders to attend customized
educational classes and recreation programs sponsored by AR&LE. Through donations and
fundraising, TRAIL subsidizes the cost of transportation so the riders pay a nominal fee for each
ride.
To purchase tickets or for more information about AR&LE, visit www.EdinaParks.com or call 952-
681-6109. If you are unable to attend the event, donations can be sent to TRAIL, 9691 Belmont
Lane, Eden Prairie, MN 55347.
