For the first person through the gate each year, it looks like a brand new facility.” Some updates to the facility included sandblasting and repainting the main pool, play structure in the zero-depth pool and bath houses; purchasing 100 new lounge chairs; and replacing the sand in the sand filtration system. The Edina Aquatic Center’s main pool features a 215-foot twisting flume, a large area for lap swimming and diving and a pirate ship-themed cable ride. The Center is also home to Oakwood Forest, a dry play area, along with a popular children’s pool. Daily admission to the pool is $10 per person or $8 after 5 p.m. (prices do not include tax). Season membership passes are also available. The Aquatic Center will remain open until Sunday, Aug 29. The Edina Aquatic Center, 4300 W. 66th St., is open Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. For more information, call the Edina Aquatic Center at 952-928-4582, or visit www.EdinaAquaticCenter.com. -30-
