HomeMy WebLinkAboutSergeant PromotionsContact: Lauren Siebenaler, Senior Communications Coordinator Phone 952-833-9537 • LSiebenaler@EdinaMN.gov • EdinaMN.gov  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  Four Police Officers Promoted to Sergeants Edina, Minn., Aug. 25, 2023 – Police Officers Darren Davis, Emily Jepson, Mike Sussman and Jesse Penman were promoted to Sergeants and have started their new positions. “All four of our new sergeants bring unique experiences that have prepared them well for this next step in their career,” said Police Chief Todd Milburn. “I am very proud of their accomplishments and excited to make these promotions.” Davis started with Edina Police Department in October 2016. Since his hiring, he has served various positions, including Drone Team Member, SWAT Team member, Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer/Investigator and Less-Lethal Munitions Instructor. In 2019, Davis was awarded the Mike Siitari Officer of the Year. Jepson was also named a Mike Siitari Officer of the Year in 2021. More recently, Jepson has served as the Community Engagement Officer for the Police Department. Since her hiring in 2015, she earned three internal awards related to the City’s values of Integrity, Quality and Service. Since Sussman’s hiring in January 2014, he has also earned multiple awards and recognition from the City of Edina related to the City’s values of Integrity, Quality and Service. He also was recently honored at a Minnesota Twins Game for being one of the Office of Traffic Safety’s “DWI All-Stars” his second DWI enforcement recognition since 2021. Penman is also known for DWI enforcement and was named a “DWI All-Star” by the Office of Traffic Safety’s in 2018, 2019 and 2022. He was hired by the Edina Police Department in 2017 and earned the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Top Enforcer Award in 2018. Penman was named the 2022 Mike Siitari Officer of the Year this year.
