New City Manager launches blog
Edina, Minn., Nov. 10, 2010 – Focusing on communicating with the community and building relationships with
residents, businesses and employees, new Edina City Manager Scott H. Neal launched a blog his second day on the job.
Neal began work as City Manager on Monday, Nov. 8. On Tuesday, Nov. 9, he published his first blog post on the City’s
website. It read, in part, “This blog is a new communications tool for the City of Edina. I’ll write to it frequently, but
probably not every day. I will share some of the things we’re doing and/or about to do. I will draw attention to the great
people who work here and the exceptional things they are doing to help make Edina a great city for ‘living, learning,
raising families and doing business.’”
Hailed as an innovative communicator by other city managers, Neal has been a blogger since 2003 when he started a
blog as City Manager of Eden Prairie.
