Two PSAs finalists in national ‘Cans for Cash’ video contest
Edina, Minn., Oct. 19, 2009 – Two Edina recycling videos are finalists in the national “Cans for
Cash” video competition. The public is encouraged to vote for a winner in the contest.
The United States Conference of Mayors, Novelis Corporation and Keep America Beautiful Inc.,
have organized the video contest to encourage and assist U.S. cities with their sustainable recycling
efforts. The winner of the contest will receive $5,000.
Edina Community Channel 16 (EDINA 16) produced two public service announcements for the
competition. Both videos were named finalists. There are four other finalists, including videos from
Cincinnati, Ohio; Guntersville, Ala.; Irvine, Calif.; and Miami, Fla.
The public can vote online at http://www.cans4cash.com/video_award/Pages/AmericanRecycler.aspx.
Voting will continue through Oct. 31. Only one vote per person will be counted. The winner will be
announced in November on America Recycles Day.
