Rochon Construction works to rebuild Fire Station driveway
Edina, Minn., Nov. 9, 2009 – Rochon Construction is working to rebuild the driveway at Fire
Station No. 1, 6250 Tracy Ave.
Rochon Construction was the general contractor for the Fire Station construction project, which
was completed in July 2008. It was discovered that the station’s apron and driveway slope was
steeper than allowed by Americans with Disabilities Act standards, so Rochon Construction agreed
to rebuild it at no additional expense to the City.
The apron and driveway reconstruction project began Monday, Nov. 9 and is expected to take a
week to complete. The concrete will need to cure for 28 days before the Fire Department can drive
its heavy trucks and other equipment on it. For now, staff is using overhead doors on the back side
of the garage to come in and out of the building.
