City forming winter four-man hockey league
Edina, Minn., Nov 2, 2009 – The Edina Park & Recreation Department is forming its 2009-2010
four-man hockey league. Registration will continue through the beginning of December.
One of Edina’s most popular adult programs, four-man hockey is designed for adults who love
hockey and miss the hassle-free pickup games of their youth, says Assistant Park & Recreation
Director Ed MacHolda. “The league plays on local rinks, giving the old-time feeling of playing on a
pond,” he said.
Leagues are divided by age and ability, with 20- to 29-year-old hockey players in the gold division,
30- to 40-year-old former high school or college players in the silver division, and age 30 and up
recreational players in the bronze division.
The team captains run the games. Participants must be 20 years of age or older. Teams will be limited
to 12-player rosters.
