Photos entered were taken between June 2022 and June 2023 and were entered into one of five categories. Edina Magazine readers voted online to choose the “Readers’ Choice” award. One overall “Best In Show” winner was chosen. Photos were judged on a variety of elements, including composition, lighting, relevance to each category and degree of difficulty. “We are always so blessed by the amount of talent and creativity in our city,” said Feroza Mehta, editor of Edina Magazine. “The Images of Edina contest always shows us a unique window into the lives of people who live and work here.” The winners of the 2023 Images of Edina contest are: Activities & Events – “John Philip Sousa at Centennial Lakes” by Linda Scott Business – “Pinstripes at Sunset” by Stephanie Thomas People – “Friends” by Forrest Pearson Places in Edina – “Reflections at Centennial Lakes” by Linda Scott Plants & Animals – “Forest Fawn” by Valerie Brunnette Readers’ Choice – “A New Day in Edina” by Burton Hanson Best in Show – “Reflections at Centennial Lakes” by Linda Scott The contest is free to enter and is open to both amateur and professional photographers who reside, work or attend school in Edina. The 20th annual Images of Edina photo contest, sponsored by the City and Edina Magazine, will open for entries in Spring 2024. “The contest showcases the many talented photographers in Edina. I really enjoy seeing the city captured through the creative vision of our residents and employees,” said the City of Edina’s Graphic Designer, Dan Doar, who coordinates the contest. “Each year, it is an honor to meet the winners and share in their excitement over their photographs, getting to learn more about them and hearing the stories behind their photos.
