A virtual gallery: A webpage or website that contains different collections and art pieces. Collections will include related art pieces, such as a collection of speeches or a collection of art pieces with a specific focus/theme. Podcast: The podcast will be dialogue between a member from Mosaic and the artist(s). For example, the podcast may include a Q and A session as well as conversation with the artist about the meaning behind their piece and their journey from struggling to healing. This should be available to the public. Event (tentative): Many commission members have discussed the possibility of having a virtual event to kick off our project. This could be some sort of live show that is online or broadcasting our first collection. If it is possible in person, maybe some type of social distanced event/broadcast in a park. We will need to talk to Mosaic about their thoughts. Other Information We will be using the new rubric developed by HRRC to guide our efforts through this process. We will make sure that lens is applied to all parts of the project, from members involved to the art that will be incorporated in the virtual gallery. Commission Mosaic The commission should play a role as a supporting force. Mosaic should be the “face” of this project. - Technology/website help - Budget/money planning - Resource providers and assistance - Help with outreach and publicity - Assistance as requested - Outreach - Marketing and publicity - Reaching out the student artists, finding community artists - Help with gathering and organizing people’s pieces and collections - Content help with layout of the virtual gallery and podcast - Implementation and decision making - Website moderation FUTURE Looking towards the future, the goals for year 1(2021) include: • 1-3 art pieces included in the virtual gallery should become public art pieces in Edina • PA Working group to implement Date: August 27, 2020 Agenda Item #: V.B.
