Community member Bob Moore shared information on a large piece of art stored by
a relative of Dorothy Berge that is currently stored at Southdale. This was originally
part of a large investment in public art in Edina by several parties. Simon properties
currently own it. He suggests that the ACC may want to initiate a Legacy funding

ECF structure and funding structure was also shared.
Shannon Steven presented a proposal to hold a student sculpture contest in 2019.
She shared information on the contest in 2017-2018 and outlined the benefits of
the project.
Commissioners discussed the proposed project and the care of existing art works.
Interest was expressed in broadening the project to include older students,
perhaps as mentors.
Motion made by Hegley to collaborate with the Edina Community
Foundation to support the student sculpture contest in spring 2019. Motion
seconded by Isaacs. Motion carried.
D. Update on Comprehensive Plan Open Meeting
Hegley reported that there was a short large-group presentation and posters of
each chapter. A small number of community members came to engage in
conversation.
E. Update on Focus Groups for Art at Pentagon Park South
Klein participated and said the other participants were largely corporate or
government employees. Was interesting to learn about Edina public parks and
plans for this site. Good outcome: a gathering of people to talk about art together.

the ACC and the Chair of the HRRC; key next steps were identified and agreed
