Three Trees, a sculpture from the PAE permanent collection, was returned to The Edina Promenade this week having been removed last year for the Phase IV expansion project. The sculpture, by Kevin Komadina, was a gift from the artist a few years ago after being in the annual rotating exhibit. PAE wishes to acknowledge the support of the City Public Works Department under the leadership of Brian Olson and his crew who not only poured secure concrete bases for the pieces, but also re-installed the 3-piece sculpture with aid of a boom truck, a pickup and the artist, a retired physician and Edina resident, who became a PAE member earlier this year. Helping from Public Works were Brandon Klatke, Chet Boom, Mark Jungswirth and Sean Klapperick. PAE has included a letter to the EACC proposing to the City Communications Department, “embedding an interactive map as a link for all the major points of interest in the City. This would give our residents and visitors immediate information about the location of a point of interest - be a sculpture, a park or other points of interest - using a 360 degree camera they would virtually explore the area further peaking their interest.” See attached letter.
