II. BOARD REPORT
A. Finance
Mr. Spokes asked why registration is down? It was stated that the numbers
are not always accurate, it depends upon when the registration list is
deposited into the bank. It was also asked what the difference is between
gallery work sold and the gift shop work sold. It was noted that the
gallery gets a 40% commission on sales and the gift shop gets a 30%
commission on sales.
B. Board Positions
Mr. Van Valkenburg asked everyone to look over the board positions and
indicate what position they would like to be in charge of this year. Ms.
Hedges informed the Board that Marion Ward is leaving in September and
asked if anyone would like to work with her until September and then take
over her position. This is a very valuable and big job.
C. Comedy Night
Ms. Hedges stated that the Comedy Night event budgeted within $9.00.
D. Juried Show
Ms. Paulson handed out a schedule of the Juried Show. A solicitation
letter will be mailed to all people who formerly have donated. David
Rickert is doing the prospectus and poster. There is a sign up sheet for
people who can work at the Juried Show. The date for the Juried Show is
Tuesday, August 6th. Ms. Hedges indicated there are extra copies of the
solicitation letter and envelopes for any Board members who would like to
send out a letter personally.
Mr. Spokes stated there should be more categories so people can move up the
ladder from friend to patron.
Ms. Paulson also stated that she needs help with the Juried Show and if
anyone is interested to let her know.
E. Fundraiser
Ms. Hedges asked if February 8th would be a good day for a fund raiser next
year?

The Committee is working on the McKnight Grant and a Grant from the
Foundation.

an oriental brush painting and in August an Art Center show. Ms. Greer
also indicated that this year will be a little different. There will be no
demonstrations at Edinborough Park, they will all be at Centennial Lakes
The grand opening at Centennial Lakes Park will be June 29 and 30.
C. Resolution and Recommendation - In response to the Resolution and
Recommendation from the Art Center Board that was sent to the City Council,
the Council's position was that the funding procedure that was recommended
by the Art Center Board for the construction of the addition to the Art
Center should continue as it was previously presented by the Park Board and
approved by the City Council.
D. July 4th Pottery Sale - Ms. Hedges stated that the Art Center was
going to have a booth in the driveway by the Frontage Road to sell gift
items to people walking by on their way to the Fourth of July fire works

tremendous amount of people.
