CALL TO ORDER Mr. Van Valkenburg called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. II. CONTRIBUTION Thanks to Sandy Clark we are $1,500 richer. She painted a commissioned work with the suggestion to the client to make a contribution to the Art Center instead of paying her. III. BRYAN MOON EXHIBIT Ms. Paulson invited everyone to come to the reception to meet the artist and see the slide presentation at the up coming Bryan Moon Exhibit on February 4, 1990. IV. DIRECTOR'S REPORT Ms. Paulson reported that sales in the Main Gallery were up $600.00 from last year. Gift shop sales were down approximately $1,200.00 from the past year, showing a combined deficit in sales of about $600.00. Class break, the week before Christmas, and the Art Center sign being out of order at that time were two reasons for decline of sales. Donations reported to date this year are $4,500.00. Ms. Paulson pointed out that the financial sheet did not present the money donated in our Foundation account. Mr. Van Valkenburg suggested that our balance in the Foundation account be indicated somewhere on our financial sheet. He indicated that the money in that account is earning substantial interest. It was indicated that our registrations are up 50%. The reason for this is that more classes are being offered. Mr. Spokes brought up the point that maybe the Weekly Recap Report should only have the last four columns since that really is the most significant part of the report. It would make it easier to read. Mrs. Greer handed out a memo on the sales at Edinborough Park for 1989. This past year they took in almost $4,000.00. The Art Center gets 10% of the net. There are certain items that are just for show and not for sale. Show for Edina Art Center instructors is all of this month. February is Watercolors by Mimi Delaney and March is Sumie painting by Susan Frame. V. MEMBERSHIP Mr. Van Valkenburg stated that there are four people on the board whose terms will be expiring in February. They are: Elizabeth Eisenbrey, Judy Smith, Peter R. Spokes, and Delores Dege. They all would like to be reappointed. VI. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 7:45 a.m.
