and seconded; approved.
Juried Show Meetings - Dee Dege
The 2007 Juried Show will run from August 23 to October 3. The next meeting of the Juried Show Committee
is Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 4pm.
Mike Kelly asked how many prospective donors are on the list that was trimmed in accordance with the motion
passed at last month's Board meeting. Diana replied that the list was less than 40 people. Mike suggested that
this was too small a list to yield the number of donations needed, adding that letters should be sent to, at a
minimum, those members residing in Edina. After discussion, Ken moved to send the solicitation letter to Art
Center members who are Edina residents. Mike seconded. Passed.
The new schedule for assembly and mailing of the solicitation letters is: Dee will sign the letters on Thursday,
May 31; Other Board members to stuff envelopes on Tuesday, June 5. Those members desiring to write a
personal note to friends can do so at the Tuesday meeting. Diana will email the list of Edina residents to receive
the solicitation letter to each Board member before that Tuesday meeting.
Outreach and Public Art Committee
Diana Hedges reported on the most recent meeting of the EPAC. The committee had discussed plans for the
new promenade to be constructed from the Southdale area to Centennial Lakes. This project will include venues
for public art of some type. Diana asked again if anyone on the Board would consider succeeding Linda Kieffer
to perform outreach duties, i.e. placing art in community venues such as Jerry's supermarket and various banks
and office buildings in the area.
Ken Rosland asked if the issue of the Chair of EPAC being a member of the Edina Art Center Board had been
clarified. Jim VanValkenburg stated that the subject was under discussion with the City Manager.

Phil Johnson reported that the new Tobin 8mm Film Transfer equipment was performing up to expectations.
The captured images are bright and clear with flickering virtually eliminated. The Super8mm version of the
Tobin projector will be purchased within the next two weeks partially funded with grant money provided by
Edina Rotary.
More good news: A large donation of used video and video-editing equipment has been offered by a person
living in Lakeville. He had closed his private video editing business to return to corporate employment. Phil
drafted a letter to the donor outlining the procedures required by the City of Edina for donations. Jim Van
Valkenburg will review the language in the letter before it is forwarded for approval by John Keprios.
