Members present: Gene Andersen, Liz Eisenbrey, George Hadjiyanis, Mike Kelly, Bill McCabe,
Heather Randall King, Ken Rosland, Daniel Schroeder, Ruth Valgemae and Jim Van Valkenburg.

Call to Order
Meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by chair, Jim Van Valkenburg
Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the July 26, 2007 meeting were read. Approval was moved and seconded; approved.
Outreach And Public Art Committee - Diana Hedges
An outreach exhibit has been established at the recently remodeled US Bank (on France and
69th) retirement planning area. The Grand Opening has been rescheduled for August 29 from 4-
7pm.
Fall Into Arts - Ken Rosland
Xxx artist exhibitors and vendors had booked space; approximately the same number as last year. The
variety and quality of exhibitors have been enhanced as well as a greater variety of food vendors
positioned around the grounds. The Art Center will have the same space in the Centrum with a large
sign out in front of the building to direct customers in.
Juried Show
277 entries (276 last year). Judges are Jeff Hurinenko and Kelly Connole. Copies of the
program were distributed. $500 more received in donations this year. A complete report will be
made next month.
Budget 2008
Diana and Jim VanValkenburg attended the preliminary Budget 2008 meeting on August 6.
Dick Crockett presented the recommendation from the EAC Board to ask for $10,000 for the
Edina Public Art Committee. The City Council is expected to act on this at its next meeting.
Director's Report
Building Expansion - ATR & S came out to do some preliminary work on August 3. We should
be hearing from them soon.
Cultural Explorations Program - Carnival of the Arts
Sunday, October 7 from 1 to 4 pm. Extensive publicity has been prepared including press
releases, flyers to be posted in the community and leaflets sent home with Edina school kids.

Edina Federated Women's Club Grants
We submitted three grant applications to EFWC.
1. Cultural Explorations Program to increase awareness of Arts around the world and create
a positive Arts interaction for families.
To reestablish our Senior Art Outreach Program at the Yorktown Seniors' Apartment
complex.
2. A collaboration with Kristin Aarsvold, City of Edina's Therapeutic Recreational
Specialist and Dawn Beitel, Recreation Program Specialist, to establish once a month art
experiences for children with varying abilities.
Dates for Your Calendar
August 23 — Board meeting at 4pm and Juried Show Opening from 5-8pm
September 7 — Set up for Fall into the Arts
September 8 and 9 — Fall into the Arts
September 27 — Board Meeting at 4pm
October 5 and 6 — Set up for Carnival of the Arts
October 7 — 10am-lpm — prep for Carnival and 1-4pm- Carnival (4-6pm clean up)
