Richard Valentine’s oil painting, The Cook Joins In received the highest honor of the evening, the Pat Greer Best in Show Award. The Best in Show Award is a $400 prize created in memory of Pat Greer, co-founder of the Edina Art Center. The jurors commented on the piece by stating, “Sitting on the edge between dark and light, these two boys hauntingly draw us into their world.” Other winners were Untitled, a photo by Tim Rummelhoff, who was awarded the Ron & Sandy Clark Award of Excellence; Long Prairie Saturday Night, a watercolor by Gwen Ruff, Award of Merit; Gramma, an oil by Kathy Jorgenson, Award of Merit; Swallow Tea Bowl, porcelain by Susan Sheets, Award of Merit; and Medallion Sugar & Cream Set, porcelain by Julie Timm, Betsy Bryant Pottery Award.
