HomeMy WebLinkAboutParade application final call5-05 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 4 parade entry deadline draws near Edina, Minn., May 5, 2005 – There are just a few days left to join Curious George, Trix the Rabbit, Madeline and others in the City of Edina’s 10th-annual Fourth of July Parade. The parade typically includes about 70 units and approximately 5,000 spectators. Parade entries are due 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 13. This year’s theme is “Hands Across Edina.” “The 2005 Edina 4th of July Parade is sure to be the best ever,” said Parade Chairperson Mary Brindle. “The parade is one of the greatest community events of the year. There is still time to get involved.” The parade route will be approximately one mile long and runs from Edina City Hall to the intersection of 50th Street and Halifax Avenue, ending in downtown Edina. This year's parade will feature a unit competition. A panel of community leaders will judge the units and award ribbons to the three deemed most creative. There is no fee to enter for community and neighborhood groups. Sponsorships are available for commercial entities. Parade applications are available at Edina City Hall or through the parade website, www.edinaparade.org.
