Applications being accepted for appointment to
boards, commissions
Edina, Minn., Dec. 28, 2004 – Edina Mayor-Elect Jim Hovland is accepting applications for
appointment to the Community Health Committee, Heritage Preservation Board, Human Rights
and Relations Commission, Planning Commission and the Recycling and Solid Waste
Commission.
There are three open positions on the Heritage Preservation Board, including one for a student
member. There are two open positions on the Recycling and Solid Waste Commission, including
one for a student member. There is one open position on the Community Health Committee and
another on the Planning Commission. Student representation is also needed on the Art Center
Board and Park Board. All appointments are made from the community at-large. Most positions on
City committees, boards and commissions are three-year terms.
All of the mayor’s appointments must be approved by the majority of the Edina City Council. To
