Connecting With Kids event slated for later this
month
Edina, Minn., Aug. 11, 2004 – As part of the youth asset-building initiative Connecting With Kids, the
Edina Park & Recreation Department will host “Splash Jam” at the Edina Aquatic Center, 4300 W. 66th
St., Friday, Aug. 20. After the swimming pool closes for the evening at 8 p.m., it will be opened to area
middle school students until 9:45 p.m.
Admission is free for students who have a season pass to the Aquatic Center. Cost is $6 for others.
Connecting With Kids is an effort to create a more supportive and caring school and community
environment for Edina’s youth. The initiative focuses on developing a community-wide commitment to
surround children and adolescents with the wide range of “assets” crucial for healthy development.
