The Stone Soup Dollmakers are a group of 33 artists who have been creating dolls and celebrating dollmaking for the past 10 years. They will be displaying 50 dolls made from cloth, beads, polymer clay and other matierials. “When most people hear that we make dolls, they imagine that we make beautifully dressed, pretty porcelain dolls or country craft dolls,” says dollmaker Barb Kobe. “The doll images and forms in this show are creative contemporary dolls. Their design comes from thoughts and feelings about self and life, many become metaphors that represent a life experience. These dolls are powerful symbols of the depth of the human experience and a celebration of the creative self.” The Edina Art Center is located at 4701 W 64th Street, Edina, MN, one mile west of Southdale on the northwest corner of Kenneth Rosland Park (formerly Lake Cornelia Park).
