HomeMy WebLinkAboutGreat Duck Chase Results10-03FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Great Duck Chase a success Edina, Minn., October 1, 2003 – The first annual Great Duck Chase 5k and Fun Run was a complete success. Approximately 60 people participated in the event, which was held at Centennial Lakes Park in Edina. For the 5K, the male winner was Matthew Reinders from Bloomington. His overall time was 15 minutes and eight seconds. The female winner was Mary Weidner who had a time of 22 minutes and four seconds. The winners were presented with a plaque at the completion of the race. The 1.5 mile Fun Run was held after the 5K. Approximately 15 people participated in the event, most of who were children and walkers. Each child received a small rubber duck for participating. All participants received a free Great Duck Chase T-shirt and complimentary snacks and beverages after the event. According to Stacy Mass, special events coordinator for the City of Edina, “We were pleased with the overall turnout for the Great Duck Chase, we had great weather and a good time with both the 5K and the 1.5 mile Fun Run.
