The volunteers who bring you the Edina
Film Festival are reinventing the event to
appeal to a broader audience.
As in past years, the Film Festival will
serve as a fundraiser for the Edina Art
Center. However, the upcoming fourth-
annual Film Festival will move from the
fall at Landmark’s Edina Cinema at 50th

Volunteers Work to Produce Fourth-Annual Edina Film Festival

Auditorium in spring of 2015. While the
exact dates have not been identified,
those in attendance can expect the usual
three nights of programming – more than
12 hours – that includes feature-length
and independent films, as well as new-
and-improved aspects from past years.
Additions to this year’s Festival include
showcasing student-made films as well
as the addition of student awards. High
school students from around the state
were able to submit their films over the
summer for a chance to be selected for
a showing. Students whose films are
shown will also be eligible for a number
of different awards, including cash prizes
and varying levels of scholarships for
programs at the Edina Art Center.
“I’ve been a big supporter of the Film
Festival and want to see it succeed. The
student-made films are really an exciting
addition and I love the idea of having it at
the High School,” said Michael Frey, General
Manager of the Edina Art Center. “[The
Festival] is trying to be unique, but still
relevant, all while having a local flavor.”
The volunteers began planning the
Festival in the spring to decide which
films to show. They attend different
festivals around the country and
correspond with filmmakers and movie
studios.
“[We’re] trying to engage Edina and the
entire west metro to get a taste of the
festival experience,” said John Swon, chair
of the Film Festival Steering Committee.
“ … [and we like to] bring in work that has
not been seen elsewhere in Minnesota, in
order to draw more attendees.”
The Film Festival has been extremely
successful despite its short history, but
those involved are looking forward to
the additions and changes. In 2013, the
Festival had almost 700 attendees, up 67
percent from previous years. Annually,
the Festival generates around $10,000,
approximately $3,000 of that supporting
the Edina Art Center.
“People should attend the Festival
because it’s a great source of
entertainment, on top of being a great
way to support the community at large,”
said Swon.

There is an additional fee of $5 per participant per
program for non-residents.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
All refund requests will be assessed a $5
administrative fee. Full refunds are given only when
a program or reservation is canceled by the Parks &
Recreation Department. No refunds will be given for
cancellations requested less than five business days
prior to the start of a program or reservation. Under
the discretion of the Parks & Recreation Director,
partial credit will be considered if cancellation is due
to injury or serious illness.
CONFIRMATION
Program confirmation is usually sent one week before
your class begins. If the program is full, you are given
the option of being placed on a waiting list.
FINANCIAL AID
Several civic organizations have contributed to the
Van Valkenburg Fund for Children through the Edina
Community Foundation, which supports the Grant-
In-Aid Program. The program provides assistance
to individuals who cannot afford registration fees.

HEARING ASSISTANCE/ACCESSIBILITY
Sign language interpreters are available to
help residents who are deaf or hard of hearing
participate in City of Edina activities and meetings.
Some programs, meetings and special events also
are equipped with a hearing assistance system. For

Take a mini-vacation with all your friends! Find a hidden treasure
in an outdoor hunt, create under the sea snow globe and partake
in fun “island” activities. Bring a bag lunch to eat and warm
clothes. After lunch, we’ll go to the Sea Life Aquarium at the Mall

DISC GOLF LESSONS
Learn from the Twin Cities’ top-rated disc
golf players! Disc golf can be played by all
age levels and abilities, and has tournaments
worldwide for players ages 12 to 70 and older. Disc
golf is one of the fastest-growing and most affordable
sports in America. Register by Sept. 1. There is a maximum
of 30 students.
Level 1
Level 1 is for new players looking to grasp the basic rules
and concepts of the game. Parents and children are
welcome to learn the game together. Disc golf is a great
lifelong sport you can play together. Lessons include a
T-shirt and coupon for a disc from Airborn.

Spend the morning doing “Minute to Win It” games,
creating team scavenger hunts and competing in
“Survivor” type challenges. We will order pizza and then
walk over to Pinstripes and play two games of bowling.

EDINA YOUTH WRESTLING
Edina Youth Wrestling provides a folkstyle wrestling
experience for students in PreK through 6th Grade with
the goal of developing young wrestlers. Athletes will be
introduced to the sport of wrestling in a fun and competitive
environment and will be led by experienced coaches and
volunteers. Edina Youth Wrestling will teach your child the
basics of wrestling through games, individual matches,
team matches and tournaments. This is a great opportunity
to further your wrestling skills and be introduced to the
sport of wrestling as we cater to wrestlers of all ability levels
-- beginner to advanced. The skills gained will positively
benefit your athlete in other sports as well! Wrestlers will
also have a direct connection with high school wrestlers and
coaches. The season will start in November. Watch for more

Soccer Shots is the national leader
in youth soccer development for
children ages 2-8. The program has
been created under the guidance of
childhood education specialists, Major
League Soccer and United Soccer
League professional soccer players
and experienced and licensed soccer
coaches. Innovative lesson plans are
developmentally appropriate and
tailored specifically to three distinct
age groups. Using these creative and
age-appropriate curricula and infusing
each lesson plan with enthusiasm and
structured activity, Soccer Shots aims
to leave a lasting, positive impact on
every child served.
Youth Sports Camps
MINI
2 to 3 year olds
Soccer Shots Mini is a high-energy program
introducing children to fundamental
soccer principles such as using your feet,
dribbling and the basic rules of the game.
Through fun games, songs and positive
reinforcement, children will experience the
joy of playing soccer and being active.
CLASSIC
3 to 5 year olds (Pre-K)
For nearly 15 years, Soccer Shots has been
introducing soccer to children ages 3-5.
Using creative and imaginative games,
weekly sessions focus on basic soccer skills
like dribbling, passing and shooting. Soccer
Shots also highlights a positive character
trait each session such as respect,
teamwork and appreciation. Soccer Shots
will show your child the fun of soccer and
provide the foundation needed to get
started in the sport.
PREMIER
5 to 8 year olds (K-2nd)
This program is for children who are new
to soccer or who want to build upon what
they have learned in Soccer Shots Classic.
Focusing on individual skill, fitness and
sportsmanship, each session provides
an opportunity for kids to be challenged
through fun games and team competitions.
Children will also be introduced to tactical
elements of the game as they prepare to
play on competitive teams.

AR&LE participants can use the indoor track at Edinborough Park, 7700 York Ave. S., at a reduced price. Purchase a Get
Fit Value Pass for $25 for 10 admissions to the walking track (only). Bring your pass when you walk. One family member or

RECREATION SERVICES FOR PEOPLE
WITH DISABILITIES
The City of Edina believes that all people have the
right to participate in activities of their choice. We
offer both adaptive recreation programs and inclusion
services for people with disabilities.
Adaptive Recreation and Learning Exchange (AR&LE)
partnership offers recreation, leisure and community
education opportunities specifically designed to meet
the needs of people with disabilities in the cities of
Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina and Richfield.
Current program catalogs can be downloaded from
www.EdinaParks.com. (Click on “Recreation Programs,”
then “Adaptive Recreation.”) Participants are required
to complete a participant profile which will get you on
our mailing list. Program catalogs are sent out three

Inclusion is providing support to individuals with
disabilities who want to participate in general
parks and recreation programs. A successful
experience involves several steps. To ensure a
positive experience and the accommodation of

FALL BOWLING CLUB
Ages 7-18
Bowling is fun! Come learn to bowl or enhance your skills.
Have fun being part of the team, making new friends and
meeting up with your club. Teams will be arranged by
age. Volunteer support is welcome! Register by Sept. 3;

with Blizzard Ski & Snowboard School
(Ages 6-18)
Experience the ultimate in skiing, snowboarding and racing instruction for
beginners to experts! Blizzard Ski and Snowboard School knows the better you get,
the more fun you have! At seven different metro ski and snowboard areas, our top-
quality staff will teach you to improve your skiing and boarding skills on groomed
runs and terrain parks. You provide your own food and gear (season-long rentals
are available), and we provide the rest!
There are weekly trip fees. Using our flexible pay-as-you-go trip fee structure,
a weekly trip fee of about $60 will cover round-trip bus transportation and the
lift ticket. If you can’t attend that week, you don’t owe anything! Programs begin
Nov. 29, and some Jan. 5. The classic program for ages 10 to 18 is also offered on
Saturdays or Sundays this year.

The Braemar Golf Dome practice facility will be open
October through April and is closed during the summer.
The dome is the largest and longest-hitting in the Twin
Cities area with 46 tee areas on two levels. The dome

Our pool measures 75 feet by 46 feet and is 3.5 to 4
feet deep throughout, making it exceptional for children
learning to swim, lap swimmers, seniors and anyone
looking for fun and exercise. Lap swim times are for adult
lap swimming only. During open swim hours, one lane is
reserved exclusively for lap swimming.
The Track at Edinborough Park is a 1/16-mile, three-lane
track. For an even greater workout, around the inside of the
track are two recumbent bicycles, two treadmills, elliptical
trainer, ab board and multi-station gym for weight training.

ADVENTURE PEAK:
The “Peak” is a 44-by-44-by-37-foot, high-climbing, low-
crawling, slip-sliding Northwoods adventure. Climb into
the 30-foot tall oak tree, slide down one of the four giant
tube slides or wash down the triple-wave slide. Climb
across a canyon, scale the climbing wall and venture to
the 30-foot lookout to spy around the Park. From the
lookout, slide down the very popular and very fast new
super slide. Adventure Peak also features great areas
for toddlers to explore. The Tot Area includes climbing,
crawling, sliding and even bouncing in an inflatable air
bounce geared just for them! The entire padded, netted
and enclosed structure has more than 45 activities to

SWEDISH EXERCISE (IT’S BACK!)
Margaret Nelson, a Stockholm native and former dancer
with the Royal Swedish Ballet, has crafted this class as
a non-impact and low-intensity workout. After a warm
up, participants go through a slight cardio-vascular
workout, followed by strength training for both upper
and lower body. The class ends with a relaxing cooldown
and stretch. Enjoy moving to fun music. Bring a mat and
comfortable shoes. The class will start in mid-September.

WOOD FIRING CLASS
Zac Spates
More than any other firing method, wood
firing brings exciting and unpredictable
results achieved through the burning of wood
and subsequent ash that melts on the pots as
flames shoot from the chimney. This unpredictability
is perhaps the best part about the wood-firing method!
Class participants will meet with the instructor
approximately every-other week at the Edina Art Center.
When the instructor is not present, the classroom will
be reserved for the students. Students will bisque and
glaze their work at the Art
Center. In the final three
classes, the participants
will carpool to meet at
Zac’s studio in Hudson,
Wisconsin, to load, fire and
unload his multi-chamber
wood kiln! Students will

PIT FIRING WORKSHOP
Sumi Von Dassow
Sumi Von Dassow is an award-winning
ceramic artist living in Golden, Colorado.
Her love of color and form is expressed in
her unique body of unglazed burnished work.
She teaches pottery at the Lakewood Washington
Heights Center for the Traditional Arts. Sumi is
a columnist and frequent contributor to Pottery
Making Illustrated Magazine, and was editor for the
books Barrel, Pit and Saggar Firing and Electric Kiln
Pottery. She is the author of the book Low-firing and
Burnishing and she produced a DVD called “Pit firing
and Burnishing.”
According to Sumi, “pit firing is a collaboration
between the potter and the elements of earth, air
and fire. Pots go into the pit plain white and emerge
covered with wild color, including yellow, orange,
pink, red and a rich black. All these colors come
from materials put into the pit with the pots!”
The day will begin by preparing the pots for firing. Participants will discuss what effects to expect from the various
materials, both that which is applied directly to the pots and those that are put into the pit along with the pots. Then
the pit will be loaded with pots; colorants; various materials for creating color and fuel, including wood and wood
shavings. After the pit is lit, it will be covered and left to burn and smolder for 24 hours. After a potluck lunch Saturday
afternoon while the pit smolders, Sumi will demonstrate throwing a variety of forms for cooking and serving food —
forms she developed in the process of working on her soon-to-be-published book In the Potter’s Kitchen.
Attendees will each pit-fire six moderate-sized pots. The pit will be loaded Saturday morning, fired Saturday
afternoon and unloaded Sunday around lunchtime. Participants need to bring up to six bisque pots with terra
sigillata to the event. For best results, use a smooth, light-colored cone 5-6 stoneware body. Raku, stoneware and
porcelanious clays may also be used. If possible, the pots should be coated with terra sigillata and bisque-fired to
cone 010. If terra sigillata is not available, use a buff-colored stoneware and bisque-fire to cone 010. Pots without
terra sigillata may be burnished if desired. Minimum 10, Maximum 20.

NAKED RAKU WORKSHOP
Pottery Staff
Keep your clothes on while learning the
practice of naked raku! In naked raku,
participants will take a burnished piece of
bisque-fired pottery and put a slip over its surface.
This slip is used as a barrier between the pot and the
glaze so that they will separate from the pot after firing.
The fracturing action created by the slip/glaze layer as it
shrinks in the firing and is penetrated by smoke leaves a
striking soft crackle finish stained into the pot’s surface!
All participants in this workshop are asked to bring four
burnished, six-by-four-inch bottle or vase forms bisque
fired to cone 06. Participants should bring a lunch.

Through this class, you will understand color in ways beyond
primary, complementary and tertiary. You will learn how to
create movement and interest in your paintings. You will
learn how color can help move the viewer’s eye through
the painting, moving areas together or apart, creating
tension and resolution. We will also observe characteristics
of colors such as warm/cool, direction of movement and
weight, and how they affect your artwork. We will work
with color theories built from Arnheim, Munsell, Kandinsky
and their practical application. We will look at examples
from masters and you will have ample time to apply these
ideas to your own work.
Topics covered include: mixing colors, color movements
and relationships, direction of movement, color weight,
temperature in color, tension and resolution through and
color in art.
In the first workshop on color relationships and
movement, we will start to understand colors and how
they work. We will start by learning how colors get their
colors. We will then go over the primary color system to
make sure everyone is clear on that so we have a solid
foundation upon which to build. Then, we will move
beyond the primary color system to a more effective way
to work with color. We will work on color separation, how
one color becomes two, and how to use that to create
exciting color and light that we see in the works of artists
such as Georgia O’Keefe and Van Gogh. We will also work
on color mixing: how to more effectively mix paints to

SPATIAL MOVEMENT WORKSHOP
Robert Najilis
Learn how to get your viewer’s eye to move through your work
and not let go. Learn how to give your painting the “wow” factor
by discovering how to use repetition, tension and overlapping
planes. Come to a greater understanding of positive and negative
space and the speed of movement in your painting. Observe
examples of these principles in the work of artists such as Da
Vinci, Rembrandt and Cezanne, as well as Persian and Asian art.
Many times, we focus on the figure or positive space in our
paintings. However, the space around the object is just as
important. In this workshop, we will explore positive and
negative space, and the figure/ground relationship. We will
look at examples of negative space both in objects in our daily
life, as well as in the work of artists such as Matisse. The use of
negative space will open up many possibilities to add interest
to your work, giving space to breathe and move in new ways.
In addition, we will begin to work with the concept of planes.

used to create botanical work and gain insight into the
criteria used to define contemporary botanical art, but,

Beginners will start by drawing a leaf in graphite and
progress to painting it in sepia tones and finally into

a series of paintings called “The Elements” — exploring

open to your unconscious, and through the process allow
an image to emerge. The time spent with these pure
colors and liquids is rejuvenating to the body and soul.

tools that let you isolate portions of your images in order to

to customize desired effects. The second week, students

Advanced users of Photoshop Elements create layers so
they can separate the elements in an image and then move
and transform them independently of one another. A layer
can be superimposed on other layers so certain parts of
the image can be colored, blurred, distorted, drawn upon,

involved in adding frames, shadows and watermarks, as well

Lavern Beilman
A fascination with Native American beadwork has
existed in our society from the 1800s to the present
time. This foundation course is intended to introduce
the student to an overall appreciation of Native
American beadwork, loom, appliqué and Lane (lazy)
stitch techniques. This course will concentrate on the
development of skills sufficient to complete a project
in a Northern-Plains (Sioux) Lane Stitch. The project
is called a “Strike-A-Lite” bag. This course is the basic
foundation for understanding the techniques and
materials used to create beautiful, beaded Native
American-style objects in a “Sioux” style. A supply
list is available online under “class description.” The
Edina Art Center will carry all supplies. Maximum 15.

Argentine Tango has been around for over 100
years. It is commonly known as a performance
dance in the United States. However, Argentine
Tango started out as a folk dance in Argentina and
it evolved into a social dance that focuses heavily on
connection between the two dancers. Argentine Tango
is now being practiced in many cities all over the world,
including Minneapolis. If you are interested in learning tango
or just curious about the dance, this class is a good place
to start. We’ll learn about the tradition of Argentine Tango,
common dance sequences and the connection between
partners in Argentine Tango. This is a beginner Argentine
Tango class. No experience or partner required. *Class

Team” as we introduce projects though a
“learning by doing” process. Different scaled
projects will be introduced to the class or “Team.” We
will show how to begin the process, look at and explore
as a Team different design options (class participation is
encouraged), and show the project solution. This is a fun,
relaxed course, and this way of learning strengthens your
inner-designer skills and takes the fear out of making
mistakes to make designing more fluid. Students are
encouraged to bring examples or projects to class to use
as a learning tool, but not required.

NATURE WRITING - THREE
DIMENSIONS
Jeannie Hanson
Would you like to enjoy writing about your
experience in nature around the Art Center
(or wherever)? This class will explore in its
three sessions the writing of nature haiku poetry,
personal nature prose and more journalistic nature
writing. We’ll read some writing samples, do a few writing
exercises, find inspiration outside and then write, right
away! You’ll have a chance to share your writing with
other class participants and to receive advice from them
and from the instructor, if you so choose. Everybody
will leave with good drafts of three writings, different
expressions of interest in nature. The instructor, a much
published nature and science writer, acts as a local
writing coach and also leads nature-writing trips to the
North Shore. Maximum 12.

READING LIKE A WRITER
Allison Wyss
It’s fun to read! We wouldn’t be writers if
we didn’t think so. But we can read for more
than fun. We can also read closely, figuring out
how each word works in a sentence, how each
sentence works in a story. In this class, writers will
learn the basics of close reading and how it relates to
the craft of writing. They’ll learn specific techniques for
improving their writing. But, more importantly, they’ll
end the class equipped to study their favorite writers on
their own. Each week, we’ll read one chapter of Francine
Prose’s Reading Like a Writer plus one short story and
focus on a specific element of craft. Word by word, we’ll
uncover the secrets of the masters. Additionally, each
week will include a writing exercise to practice specific
skills. This is a great class for writers of any level looking
for techniques to improve their writing. More advanced
writers may already know the techniques this class
teaches, but can still benefit from close reading with a
diverse group of people, because every person tends
to find different secrets hidden in the text. For this
reason, Allison loves to teach close reading — she learns
something every time. Please obtain a copy of Francine

Park summer music series in Rosland Park.

PUBLIC ART EDINA CELEBRATES
10 YEARS IN 2014!
Installations of 11 new sculptures occurred from May 15
to June 1 for the 2014-2015 Annual Call for Sculpture.
Three new works were installed at 50th & France, two at
Grandview Square Park and six sculptures on the Edina
Promenade and Centennial Lakes Park. Online voting
continues until Sept. 30 for the People’s Choice Awards.

The winners of the People’s Choice Awards for 2014-
2015 will be announced in October 2014.
The 4th -Annual Edina Film Festival changes
locations to the Fick Auditorium at Edina High
School, and new for January 2015, the festival
will show films by Minnesota High School
students in addition to local and regional films.
The 3rd-Annual Edina Film Festival was a huge
success, with over $3,000 raised to benefit the
Edina Art Center. Attendance doubled in 2013
over previous years Chair John Swon and the
entire Film Festival Committee thank you for
joining us in 2013!

ELIGIBILITY. Open to all members of the Edina Art
Center. You may join the Center by submitting a completed
membership form and membership fee along with the
Juried Show entry form and fees. Works accepted into
previous EAC Juried Shows are not eligible.
MEDIA. You may enter an unlimited number of works in
any medium. Enter actual work — no slides.
CONDITIONS. All 2D artwork must be framed,
excluding wrapped canvas, and ready to hang with wire.
Watercolors, pastels and photographs must be under
glass or plexiglass. Artwork must be original. Copies of
published photos or of masterworks are not acceptable.
Work done in the classroom must be executed solely by
the student.
SIZE. Maximum size of two-dimensional work is 40
inches in any direction. Sculptural and ceramic work
must fit through a 3-by-7-foot door and weigh less than
150 pounds.
ENTRY FEES. Entry fee is $15 per entry, or $35 for three
entries, payable to Edina Art Center. Include total payment
with registration form. (Entry fee is non-refundable.)
TO ENTER. Mail or bring in completed entry form,
a check or money order with the correct entry fee,
membership form with membership fee (if applicable)
to the Edina Art Center. You may charge fees to Visa,
MasterCard, Discover, or American Express.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORK. Each entry must have an
identification label attached to the back upper left hand
corner or to the base of three-dimensional work.
INSURANCE. Reasonable care will be taken in handling
work submitted. Insurance is provided by the Edina Art
Center for artwork in the gallery for the duration of the
Members’ Juried Exhibition.
SALES. Sales of artwork will be handled by the Edina
Art Center for a 35 percent commission. If work is not
for sale, mark “NFS” on the entry form but note value.
JUDGING. Entries will be judged and displayed without
regard to media groups. All entries will be displayed
and the best work in the judges’ opinion, regardless of
medium, will be shown in the Foss gallery. The Edina Art
Center, however, reserves the right to reject any work
based on suitability.
AWARDS. Up to $750 in cash awards will be given to
selected winners including the Betsy Bryant Pottery
Award for outstanding ceramic work.
PEER AWARD. Each entrant will receive a ballot to
select their first, second and third choice for the best
piece in the show from among all entries. The winner
will receive a ribbon and $75. The winning piece will be
displayed in the gallery. Ballots due Friday, Oct. 10.

MAKE-UP CLASSES
Makeups will be arranged only when a class meeting is
canceled by the Art Center. If an instructor has another
class similar to your class, a make-up session is at the
discretion of the instructor.
HALF-CLASSES
The Edina Art Center offers half-classes for those
individuals who are unable to take a full class.
Our policy for Half-Classes is:
• The Art Center Front Desk staff places your name on
the Half-Class Wait List with the dates you are available.
• Half-Class sessions are first-half/last-half only.
• We provide the dates of your availability to the
instructor to verify attendance.
• Students are notified 24 hours before the class
starts if a half-space is available.
• The Edina Art Center staff authorizes half-space
enrollment only. Instructors do not have the ability
to approve half-class enrollment. Please talk to the
Front Desk before speaking with your instructor.
• Your enrollment is not guaranteed if you placed
your name on the Half-Class Wait-List. The list will
be first come, first served if an opening is available.
PRO-RATED CLASSES
The Edina Art Center does not pro-rate class tuition. The
only exception is Art Academy student registrations.
OPEN STUDIO TIME
We offer Open Studio time in painting, pottery and jewelry
to members registered in a current class as a benefit of
membership.
RESIDENT MEMBERS
As a thank you to our residents who are members of the
Edina Art Center, we offer a $5 discount on classes taken
at the Art Center. You must be a resident and a member
to receive this offer.
RECIPROCAL MEMBERSHIP
As a thank you to our members of the Edina Art Center,
we offer a reciprocal membership with the Walker Art
Center. Please inquire about details.
CLASS SUPPLIES
You may find a class supply list for most classes listed
online under the class description. Our Art Center supply
store carries basic supplies requested by your instructor
at reasonable and comparable prices with a 10 percent
discount to members. Supplies used in adult classes are
to be purchased by the student.
GIFT SHOP/GALLERY MEMBER DISCOUNTS
Sorry! The 10 percent membership discount does not
apply to artist-created work found in the Gift Shop or
purchases made in our Margaret Foss Gallery. We support
our featured artists by asking a minimal 35 percent
commission on work sold. We believe it is important that
no further discount be asked of the artist.
REFERRAL FEE
We ask artists to pay a 15 percent referral fee for contacts
made and artwork sold through the Edina Art Center.

ADOPT-A-PARK
The City of Edina encourages individuals
or groups to participate in the Adopt-A-
Park program. Participants make a two-
year commitment during which they pick
up litter at their adopted park at least
twice a year. They also notify the City of
any safety hazards in the park.
The program is open to individuals,
families, religious or community service
organizations, neighborhood associations
and other groups. At each adopted park,
the City will provide a sign identifying the
volunteer group or individual.

RESERVE A PARK
The Todd Park, Cornelia School Park,
Weber Park and Walnut Ridge Park
buildings are available for rent for birthday
parties, small reunions, neighborhood
meetings and other events.
The parks offer pleasant buildings, year-
round outdoor activities, clean restrooms
and easy parking.

PICNIC SHELTER
RESERVATIONS
Anyone living in Edina may reserve
the picnic shelter at Rosland Park by
calling the Edina Parks & Recreation
Department at 952–826-0367 after March
1. Reservations assure space in the shelter,
but not exclusive use of the park.
BICYCLE & WALKING PATHS
The City of Edina offers several scenic
paths for bicycling, walking, jogging,
cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
To ensure the safety and enjoyment
of everyone, motorized vehicles are
prohibited on the paths.
THE BREDESEN PARK BIKE PATH
The Bredesen Park bike path is two miles long and
located south of Vernon Avenue and east of Gleason
Road. Also available is a separate two-mile walking
path. These paths encircle Bredesen Park, which has
been developed as a nature study area. Access to
the paths is on Vernon Avenue or Olinger Boulevard.
THE LAKE CORNELIA PATH
The 1.1-mile Lake Cornelia path encircles the
northern portion of Lake Cornelia, south of the
Crosstown Highway and west of the Edina Aquatic
Center. Access is on 66th Street or West Shore Drive.
