OF HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF EDINA
APRIL 6, 1981
7:00 P.M.
The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Edina met at 7 :00 p.m. in the
Edina City Council Chambers. Present were Commissioners Bredesen, Courtney
Richards, Schmidt and Turner.
Minutes of March 2, 1981, were approved as presented by motion of Commissioner
Schmidt, seconded by Commissioner Bredesen and unanimously carried.
Mr. Hughes referred to a memo directed to the Council which recalled that Our
Lady of Grace Church was given preliminary approval by the Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) during the fall of 1980 for the develop-
ment, along with the Community Development Corporation (CDC) , of 100 units of
elderly housing. He explained that Our Lady of Grace has dropped its co-spon-
sorship, and that the membership of Edina Community Lutheran Church has now
voted to co-sponsor the development which it proposes to construct in the
Southeast Edina Tax Incriment District. Mr. Hughes asked that the matter be
continued until April 20, 1981, at which time the H.R.A. would be asked to
authorize an appraisal of the market value of the property and a letter to
property owners expressing the H.R.A. 's interest in acquiring the subject
property.
Commissioner Schmidt's motion was then seconded by Commissioner Richards and
unanimously carried, that the hearing be continued to April 20, 1981.
